Biography
Hetal Vyas has more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing project management. He earned a Business Management degree from Michigan State University and later studied supply chain management and strategic leadership. At MSU, he was active in the Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU), the Aerospace Club, and the Hindu Youth Union (Hindu YUVA). These activities helped him build a broad, multidisciplinary approach to project management.
Hetal began his career at General Motors and worked there for twelve years. He developed strong skills in project management, process improvement, and team leadership. At General Motors, he handled shifting priorities and complex construction schedules. He led teams from engineering, finance, purchasing, safety, and other departments. Early in his career, he was mentored by John F. Smith Jr., which greatly supported his growth.
In 2002, Hetal became a senior project manager for Whirlpool. He strengthened his ability to lead complex projects while keeping a strong focus on safety and compliance. His time at Whirlpool helped him guide different teams and maintain high operational standards.
In 2010, Hetal joined Magna International as a senior data manager (later roles in project management). His problem-solving skills helped him succeed in this role, optimizing processes and meeting deadlines.
Since 2017, Hetal has worked as a project manager at Bosch in Farmington Hills, Michigan, focusing on safety and compliance. He manages projects from start to finish, makes practical decisions, and works toward high-quality results.
In his free time, Hetal helps young professionals grow in their careers. He mentors new talent and shares what he has learned in the industry. He also enjoys reading and staying up to date on new developments in manufacturing technology. Hetal likes spending time with his family and running marathons around the country, including the Boston, New York City, and Kalamazoo marathons. His love of running reflects his belief that determination and perseverance are key to success in all areas of life, including school and work.
